The new comment period will close on August 26, 2026. This change is due to an administrative error that resulted in a 30-day comment period instead of the required 60-day period.
Comments previously submitted during the original comment period do not need to be resubmitted, as they have already been incorporated into the administrative record and will be fully considered by NHTSA.
