Using oversize routing
The routing tool plans a path that a legal-for-your-load truck can actually drive — not just the shortest car route.
- Open Oversize Routing and enter your start and destination.
- Enter your load's dimensions and weight so the route avoids clearances and weight limits you can't meet.
- Review the route: it accounts for bridge clearances and known restrictions, powered by the Valhalla routing engine with federal bridge data.
Routing is a strong planning tool, not a permit. Always carry the correct state permits and follow any route the issuing state specifies on the permit.
