No blanket night travel or weekend prohibitions in NWT LVCR. Night travel requires different lighting: red warning lights (rear) + amber warning lights (front) during darkness. Many routes are ice roads (winter only). Spring seasonal weight restrictions in effect by Registrar order. Schedule L enhanced visibility highways (Hwy 1 AB border to Hwy 3, Hwy 2, Hwy 3): some escort exceptions apply.

Single-trip overdimension: $41; annual: $154; annual over-width: $144; annual over-height (up to 5.18m / 17ft): $144. Height >5.18m requires pre-authorization + utility company contacts. Regulation last amended June 15, 2026 (R-039-2026).
